Taurus Millennium Pro PT145
Thinking about buying one. 10+1, .45 auto and not much bigger than a Kel-Tec. Any opinions?

I've made it my mission in life to discourage people from buying those things.
The honey moon is great - after that ....:thumpdown http://goldismoney.info/forums/showp...60&postcount=5 http://goldismoney.info/forums/showt...rus+Millennium I don't know how you feel about Glocks - But I switched to a G30 and have been MUCH happier w/ it. Thats a standard .45 ACP 10+1 PLUS you can load G21 mags fer a 13+1 cap.:ok: 4000+ rounds to date - eats everything I ever fed it. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...e/HPIM1022.jpg |
Re: Taurus Millennium Pro PT145
I own a Glock 30SF and really like it. I like the fact that 9, 10, 13, or aftermarket 25 round mags can be used. Not to mention glocks reputation for durability. If you want a really really nice piece and the budget allows, try a Kimber ultra carry.
The girl and I recently went to the local gun show, just to see what fit in her hand, and I wouldnt even let her pick up a Taurus. |
Re: Taurus Millennium Pro PT145
I have a 9mm Millenium Taurus and hope to one day exchange it for some toilet paper or something when TSHTF to someone desperate for any handgun....
Has anyone looked at the compact Kahr model 45? I've handled one and am realy tempted--you could pocket carry it. |
Re: Taurus Millennium Pro PT145
Bersa Thunder .45 Ultra Compact. Fantastic Gun, my personal carry piece.
And thats all I have to say about that :) |
Re: Taurus Millennium Pro PT145
Hmmmm.not to bash Taurus Autoladers cause I don't own one but everything I have ever read about them, basiclly they are not very reliable.:thumpdown:thumpdown:thumpdown Now on the other hand, I do own a Taurus Revolver and that is on par with any other Snubbie I own...:ok::ok::ok:Personally, I like my Colt OACP for CCW in .45 ACP.

I have a Taurus PT111 that I'd also trade for TP down the road.

Re: Taurus Millennium Pro PT145
My dad has that gun or one that was just prior to the MPro.....I'm pretty sure it is the PT145.
Great feel and size for his rather large mitts. Very nice gun and was a great value at the time of purhcase. One major design flaw.....that has since been corrected on the latest design......despite it being a DAO gun....it has a safety......and a poorly designed safety.....you can kind of half engage the safety where the safety lever goes up and engages a notch in the frame....but the gun can still be fired.....and if you were to fire it in the position...the slide would recoil back and bust the safety...and who knows ...perhaps the frame....very shit design..... Otherwise....a nice pistol....and like i said....the newer design has been modified. My dad is fighting with Taurus to try to get them to replace/upgrade.....so far...they say no....he told them he could bust it 10 times and make them replace/repair 10 times....we will see where this ends....he will pester them to death until they cave in....he is famous for this ...... |

Yes - these are very nice and the right size....I never liked Bersa...until i felt one of these....I do not own one - but I agree...nice choice for a compact....i say sub-compact 45ACP. Nice price as well. |
Re: Taurus Millennium Pro PT145
+1 on the G30 SF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a PT145 and sold it shortly after a few jams. Maybe it was too new, but I have never had a Glock jam on me, ever. |
